The Preiss Company takes great pride in its communities. Each of our properties' staff are available for your student 24/7/365 and are just a phone call away. Our company specializes in student housing and trains our staff on how to effectively and properly respond to any situation that may arise. Our local property managers are supported by leasing, business, and maintenance personnel along with our professionally trained student staff. Many of our offices and staff are on-site and we have expert maintenance ready to assist your student with anything we can!

With Individual Leases, YOU are only responsible for YOUR (or your student's) rent. You aren’t liable for your roommates' rent at all! Unlike a traditional lease or a joint lease, if your roommate transfers, graduates, or fails to pay his/her rent, it does not affect you or your lease. College students have enough to worry about. An individual lease is one less thing!
In our efforts to continue striving to create a safer living environment for your son or daughter, we now require all residents to carry an active renter's insurance policy during their lease term. Requiring renters insurance has become a common practice throughout both on and off-campus student apartments to adequately protect student's belongings such as text books, phones, electronics and other valuables. Our research has found that most of these items, if damaged or stolen, fall under your homeowner's deductible so there is no coverage in place. A renter's insurance policy also works to protect you from liability exposure created while your child is away from home such as negligent damage to the apartment unit, negligent damage to another resident's property or even injuries to guests while visiting. Renter's insurance provides peace of mind and protection from the unforeseen events that sometimes occur. For your convenience, we've identified a National insurance provider that has agreed to provide a comprehensive policy to residents at our communities at a preferred group rate! Wilshire Landing offers FREE Roommate Matching Services to all of our residents. You (or your student) won't have to worry about finding a roommate online or flyering the entire campus. We'll do all of the work! All you have to do is fill out our comprehensive roommate matching form and our professionally trained Roommate Matching staff will find the best roommate for you!
We have both furnished and unfurnished options available! Every furnished apartment comes with living room, kitchen, and bedroom furniture at the cost of just $45 per month! Kitchen appliances and washer/dryer sets are included in the unfurnished package as well.
All of our residents and their guarantors have access to their property's online resident portal, helping you and them keep up to date with their life here in Wilmington! You or your student can pay rent online via checking or savings account, set up automatic monthly payments, and submit maintenance requests, all with just a few clicks of your mouse!
YES! At Wilshire Landing we LOVE our furry family members and want you to bring them with you! (We even have a leashless dog park to make outdoor time a little easier!) Make sure to register with the office and be advised that pet fees, additional pet rent and breed restrictions may apply.
Our leases are "term leases" which means there is a set amount for occupying your room between specific dates. Your monthly payment is an installment that is broken down into equal monthly installments with the first being due on your move-in day (Most leases are 12-month terms, however we sometimes have short-term leases available). You are welcome to pay your monthly installments in advance as long as you keep your account current and in good standing. Unfortunately, we do not offer discounts for prepaid rental installments at this time.
You don't! As long as you meet our qualifying criteria you're welcome to apply and sign a lease!"
On move-in day every resident is given one parking decal for their car and one visitor parking pass for guests. In addition, there are a few visitor spots located throughout the community.
Yes! We are located within the 1-mile radius of UNCW! The Seahawk Shuttle runs every 20 minutes and picks up students to take them to and from campus. We have a shuttle stop located near the entrance of our community's gate for residents and it's absolutely free with your One Card! The shuttle runs Monday-Friday between the hours of 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. Should you need to get to campus after 5 p.m., and do not have a car or a UNCW Parking Pass, they offer a Point-to-Point shuttle service from Monday-Thursday between the hours of 5:30 p.m. to 11:45 p.m. See the UNCW website for more information!
Yes! Our leases are all-inclusive, which means our rate includes water, sewer, trash, cable, and high-speed wireless internet.
